Dance of Golden Dragons (time: ca. 10:30) composed in 1996 and re-arranged in 2000 by Cheyo Wang.

This is a single movement concerto for pipa with piano, timpani and string orchestra. The theme of this piece is based on a traditional Chinese tune first used in the composer’s chamber orchestral work under the same title in 1996. This is a variation of that version. The dramatic, and sensitive sound of the pipa, blends colorfully with strings, piano and timpani. The music tries to depict the dragons’ lively, happy dance in an imaginative and abstract way.
